During the last Genoa boat show, the Pisa based Shipyard presented the new Austin Parker 44’ Sedan. This model takes over from the successful 42’ which is Austin Parkers best selling vessel so far. The presentation was preceded by an agreement with Chris Craft to build 10 units to be sold by the prestigious US Shipyard under the name “Commander 44”. The cooperation with Chris Craft backs Fulvio di Simone’s trendsetting design and has pushed the Shipyard into producing another 40’model.
The new Austin Parker 44’ Sedan combines a modernised yacht with Austin Parker’s classical good looks. It offers a choice of two engine types, the twin Cummins QSB 6.7 on shafts or twin Volvo Penta D6 with IPS 600 Pods. The latter offers reduced fuel consumption and very easy handling. We were agreeably surprised by the new lay out with it’s “ L” shaped Galley on the Main Deck. This modification liberates considerable space inside the cabin on the lower deck giving the main deck a much more sociable ambiance. The space liberated under deck has been used to fit a second cabin and bathroom. The forward cabin with ensuite bathroom remains.
